The Carrickfergus Knights moved to 4-0 in the IAFL with a very comfortable victory over the Cork Admirals in Ringaskiddy. There were superb performances from wide receiver Paul McKillop, who scored 3 touchdowns and cornerback Mark Pollock who had three interceptions. The game started badly for the Admirals who fumbled the ball on the Knights 13 yard line early in the first quarter. The Knights capitalized quickly, with fullback Bobby Murray scoring a one yard touchdown on the ensuing drive. The Admirals fumbled again on their next possession while attempting to convert a fourth down play near midfield. The fumble was recovered by Keith McBurney. The Knights scored on the very next play when receiver Paul McKillop took a reverse hand-off 45 yards into the endzone for a touchdown. The Knights scored again before the end of the first quarter with another 1 yard run by Bobby Murray.

The second quarter starter off badly for the Admirals when Mark Pollock made a diving catch to pick of quarterback John Kenny. Two plays later, the Knights made it 27-0 when Paul McKillop, in a an almost identical fashion to his first touchdown, again scored on a reverse run. The Admirals punted on their next possession and Ian McIlroy scored a touchdown with an 18 yard reception from Stephen McDowell after the running of David Wright and Bobby Murray got the Knights into scoring range. The Admirals managed to move the ball on their next possession, with Keith O'Callaghan and Martin Cole picking up yardage on the ground, however, Spencer McDowell intercepted John Kenny on the Knights 25 yard line to stop the drive and preserve the Knights 40-0 lead.

The Admirals got of to a better start in the third quarter, stopping the Knights on their first possession, then Keith O'Callaghan had a 40 yard punt return to give them the ball in mid field. However, Pollock struck again, intercepting John Kenny and returning the ball 55 yards for another Knights touchdown. Pollock capped a brilliant performance, getting his third interception on the Admirals next possession, this time on the Knights 47 yard line. The Knights then picked up a first down through David Wright and Paul McKillop scored his third touchdown of the game on a 19 yard reception from Stephen McDowell. The Admirals went 3 and out on their next possession, but got a break when linebacker Alan O'Carroll got an interception as time expired in the third quarter. However, in spite of a couple of good runs by O'Callaghan, the Admirals did not score. The Knights made the final score 60-0 when David Antuna scored on a 2 yard touchdown run. The Knights remain the only unbeaten team in the IAFL with a 4-0 record and the Admirals drop to 2-2. Next week, the Admirals travel to Belfast to take on the Bulls and the Rebels host the Dragons in the first Dublin derby of the season at Greystones RFC.
