28th July 2003 - CHILTERN CHEETAHS  30  NENE VALLEY HYBRIDS   46 (h/t 14-31)

Chiltern welcomed Nene Valley to Amersham for the first meeting between the two teams and spectators on the day were treated to an offence explosion by both teams.
A combined total of 840 yards were posted by both teams offences. Star of the day was Nene Valley Running Back Ricardo Givens with 160yds rushing and 4 touchdowns. From Chiltern it was Darren Shepsman with 166yds rushing and 1 touchdown.
The game exploded in to life early on with Nene Valley racing in to a 20-0 lead midway through the first Qtr.
It wasn't until the 2nd Qtr. that the Cheetahs sprung in to life to reduce the deficit firstly Andy Crowther crashed over from 2yds out and on their next possession Q.B. Rob Suttling sneaked in from the 1yd line, Adie Stemp caught a 2pt conversion attempt and the deficit was reduced to 6 points (14-20)
It was short lived though as Nene Valley once again found their Offensive rhythm and extended their lead further with Ricardo Givens going in from 10yds and also adding the 2pt conversion. Right on the stroke of half time Steve Booth added a 14yd Field Goal to give the Hybrids a 31-14 lead.
The second half saw Chiltern straight in to their stride when Andy Crowther scored his second Touchdown, also adding the 2pt conversion. Nene Valley replied almost immediately with Ricardo Givens getting his 4th Touchdown of the day.
At the start of the 4th Qtr.Nene Valley secured the win when Steve Booth caught an 11yd pass and tacked on the 2pt conversion.
Inside the last 2 minutes Chiltern had one last attempt to put respectability to the score line and Darren Shepsman was rewarded for his fine running on the day when he went over from 3yds out and Adie Stemp caught the 2pt conversion attempt to leave the final score 46-30 in Nene Valley's favour.
