21st May 2003 - Dundee Hurricanes 42-0 Edinburgh Wolves
The Hurricanes continued there division two campaign with the visit of local rivals the
Wolves to Dundee.
The game started slowly with both teams appearing to test each other without either
making any breakthrough, late in the first quarter Dundee began to gain an advantage and
Qb Bruce Thomson passed for 18yds to brother Fraser for Dundee's opening score.Qb Thomson
then completed a two point conversion to American import Cameron Scott to give Dundee a
8-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Dundee started the 2nd quarter at a frantic pace with Dom McNeil intercepting a
Edinburgh pass and running in from 70yds to open his scoring on his club debut.
A disastrous punt attempt from Edinburgh then saw James Cunningham recover the ball for
Dundee and dive in from two yards for 20-0 lead, Dundee now were well and trulely
beginning to dominate and Niakate Mahamadou ran in the two point conversion. Bruce
Thomson then completed a 16 yd pass for a td to Grant Mclennan to give Dundee a 28-0 half
time lead.
Edinburgh came out lookingg fresh after the break and held the third quarter to no
scoring. Dundee made some changes in the 4th bringing new American signing Dom McNeil in
at qb,he showed his ability with the play of the game a perfect 35 yd pass to Grant
McLennan to stretch the lead to 34-0,Fraser Thomson added the two point conversion. The
final play of the game saw Qb McNeil pitch the ball to Niakate Mahamadou and the pair run
70 yds for the final score of the game. Game mvps for Dundee were offensive Niakate
Mahamadou and Defensive Ryan Crighton
