Team notes: This team was the attempted merger of the Stoke Spitfires and Crewe Railroaders (USC = Union of Stoke and Crewe). They played one friendly that they won 12-0 against the Tamworth Trojans before the merger was undone. Many of the Stoke players returned to play for a newlook Spitfires team in 1991 and 1992. Many of the others helped form the South Cheshire Refugees.
