Team notes: Formed in 1991. Competed in the BNGL between 1992 and 1993. Then moved to the BAFA Division Three, after the BNGL disbanded. Had two good seasons in 1992 and 1993, registering 7-3 records in both years. In 1993 signed two former GB Internationals - Darryl Mendoza and TE Elliot Newton. Made the BNGL First Division Quarter-Finals in 1993, where they lost 14-12 to Redbridge Fire. The team was formed by several Portsmouth Warrior players after the demise of the Portsmouth Warriors in the NDMA.  Most heated rivalry was with the Invicta Eagles. Head coach 1991 - 1995 = Adrian Robinson Noteable players: Paul Boothroyd - OL - Ex-Portsmouth Warrior, played for Great Britain. Phil Rudder - DB - Ex-Portsmouth Warrior, carreer team leader in interceptions.  Retired in 1997 and returned in 2000 to play for Southern Sundevils. Chris Mewse - RB - Career team leader in rushing. Paul Brady - WR - Career team leader in receiving. In 1994 Eastleigh Royals folded and a political merger was made to accomodate several players from the Royals.  The game pants were also changed to white.  Adrian Robinson also stepped down from head coach and quarterback to play running back. In 1995 the majority of the ex-Royals players left dissatisfiesd and left to create the Winchester Rifles.   The remaining team changed it's name to Portsmouth Tridents
