1987 JAFL Midlands Conference 3-4-1

Team notes: Youth Two Touch side formed by Martin Creighan who had some affiliation with The Royals senior team (The Royals who played in Solihull not Sutton Coldfield Royals that is). In about 1985 there was a squad of about 30 playing two touch based football at the Sharmans Cross school. Although a lot of the players were from the school it wasn't exactly a school team. That first year they played a friendly against a youth team from Milton Keynes which resulted in a rather huge drubbing. They played about 3 friendlies the following season (one against Redditch Arrows). In 1987 they played in the Midlands Conference of the JAFL and finished with a 3-4-1 record. Following that season there was talk of the youth kitted league and a merger with Birmingham Bulls youth team was suggested. However a lot of the players were 18 by then and so the team lost a lot of players and was folded late that year.
