Team notes: Came out of several turbulent splits and mergers with
teams, players and officials in the Milton Keynes area following the breakup of the
original Milton Keynes Bucks in 1986. A year later they merged with the Bletchley Bees,
but were without league status for that season. Made playoffs in 1988 after winning their
conference, but fell in the opening round. Went through a barren spell in the early 1990s,
but with new coach Hugh Fuller guiding them to the quarter-finals in 1993, and then with
an influx of new players (including Ryan and Veron Holness from Croydon) won the BAFA
Division Two title in 1994. Signed import QB Chuck Lynch in 1995 and LB Jose Surita
Consolidated in 1995, and then won the BSL Southern Conference with a perfect 10-0 record
in 1996. Lost 10-6 to the Leicester Panthers in the British championship. In 1997 joined
the Big C league which contained the best 4 teams in the country. They won the regular
season league with a 5-1-0 record, and then before a 2500 crowd at the Milton Keynes
National Hockey Stadium played in one of the best games of all time in this country losing
26-20 in overtime to the London Os. The club surprisingly folded at the end of the
1997 season.
