Team Notes: Began playing in 1992 in the BNGL First Division where
they reached the wild-card stage of the playoffs. Began the 1992 season under the name of
the Stanmore Thunder. Coached by Jerry Mannagh in 1994, he quit mid-season after a
disastrous start to the year. Started 1994 with 44 players, but 20 had left by mid-season
through injuries and players leaving the club. Folded at the end of 1994 after competing
in the BAFA Division 4. Club was originally formed largely from
remnants of the Watford Scorpions and the London Express. Played
at Stanmore Rugby Club and originally sponsored by Cloisters Wood Health Club. |
