Team notes: Formed initially in 1985 as an under-18 youth side, and played 5 friendly matches in 1986 (winning 1 and losing 4) as a warm up for the first season in the league in 1987. Competed in the leagues between 1987 and 1994, playing as the North Yorkshire Hawks in 1992 and 1993. Played for the whole of the BNGL period (1988 to 1993). Played in the lowest scoring playoff match ever when they lost 2-0 to Clydesdale Colts. Finished with an impressive record of 48 wins and just 15 defeats. Lost veteran american Mark Cowden in 1992. Assistant Coach from 1991 Loren Baranowski became HC after Paul Smith took the defensive co-ordinator role at Leeds Cougars.
