Team Notes: The Greystone Rebels had been around for 4 years but in the Summer of '97 the squad got so big that they decided it would be more beneficial to create a new "B" team so that new players could get more experience. This "B" team became known as the Gladiators .... however, near the end of the season the Gladiators became one of the stronger teams in the league and were getting a bit fed up of the "B" team tag. Thus they broke away from the Rebels and formed their own entity, handling our own finances and sponsorship. Some players went on to join the Dublin Dragons.
