Team Notes: Played one season in 1992 in the BNGL and finished with a 5-5-0 record and then started but did not complete the 1993 season. The 1993 Don Valley Bears were to play in the BNGL National Division North with North Yorkshire Hawks, Dundee Whalers, Fife 49ers and the Clydesdale Colts. Initially it is thought their manager contacted the BNGL to try and drop down to the Premier Division Midlands conference. This could not be arranged so they stayed in the National division facing long road trips to Scotland. They played Hawks at home, travelled to Fife and played Dundee at home before travelling to North Yorkshire at which time they had informed the league they no longer had the financial resources to fulfill their away fixtures. The BNGL then technically 'kicked' them out for failure to fulfill the full fixture list. The Bears folded very soon after with most of the players going to the South Yorkshire Jaguars.
