Team Notes: Formed in 1991 and have progressed to the topflight of
British American Football. In 1995, signed former Bristol Packers RB
Joe Brooks, Bernie Barnard and vernon Walker. Won the BSL Division Two
Bowl in 1997 with a 27-6 win against Chiltern Cheetahs and lost the
1999 Division One Bowl to Gateshead Senators 7-2. Youth Kitted team
returned in 2001 after 3 year absence.
Disastrous 2002 season, where they finished 0-10-0. Bounced back in 2003 with the appointment of
Brian Smallworth as head coach. Won the Div.2 South West Conference
with a 8-2-0 regular season record, before defeating Kent Exiles and
the Cambridgeshire Cats in the playoffs on their way to Sheffield where
they beat Nottingham Caesars 32-15 in the Division Two final. Promoted
to Division One A in 2004, they finished second and then got past
Cambridgeshire Cats (13-12) in the wild-card game and then Gateshead
Senators (24-14) in the semi-finals). They lost the final 32-0 to the
Southern Sundevils.
