Team Notes: Youth kitted side from the
South West. They are twinned
with Mac of Texas, and several players at the end of this year will be
visiting them. They will
be registering and playing some of their players for next year. They have managed to find several
sponsors, have kit, and large numbers.
They were formed in 2001 with 6 players and as many
coaches, and never played any games, just trained. In 2001 they
affiliated to the league and played 6 games/scrimmages, Winning 4,
losing 2 with a squad of 16. In 2003 they
entered the league and played 5 won 5. They lost in the England
Championship game 14-8 to the Lancashire Wolverines. They then won the
first 'festival of football' by defeating Lancashire Wolverines. In
2004 they played 5, won 4 lost 1. Defeated Bristol Aztecs 26-0 in the
playoffs and defeated North Lanarkshire Rams in the finals at Dewsbury
Stadium on September 5th 18-14. They also won the second Festival Of
Football again against the Lancashire Wolverines.
