The Bobcats were 0-12 going into the game enduring a terrible run after
promotion to the topflight, and the Chargers were gunning for a place in the
playoffs. In front of over 2,000 fans, the Bobcats came from behind to take a
late 29-22 lead on Travis Owen’s catch in the corner, and then at the death Eric
Hawkins was stuffed inside the 10 yard line on 4th down. Match

Glasgow Lions, 4th August
1990. The Spartans were 35-14 up at the
start of the 4th quarter of this NDMA Semi-Final, but two quick TDs
by the Lions brought the Scots back into the game, and a last minute TD from QB
Hazen Choates secured the win for the champions. Match

1999.
Chester led 24-6 at the start of the
4th quarter in this Division Two final, and held off a furious
Warriors comeback to cling on for the title. Match

GB Lions 49-3 Netherlands, 1991 European Championship. One of GB's finest hours
as they pummulled the Dutch on the back of 114 yards from Warren Sweetman, and
Lloyd O'Neill's 3 TDs. Match

205. Bath Gladiators 6-20 Tiptree Titans, BNGL Division One
Bowl, 6th September 1992. Simon Dobinson passed for 196 yards as the Titans
completed their debut season in the senior ranks having risen from being a youth
team 18 months beforehand. Match

NDMA Quarter-Final. Hazen Choates passed for 349 yards as the Spartans won this
91pt playoff thriller. Cougars stayed in contention all game until Paul Bailey's

207. Brighton B52s vs City College San Francisco. Dec 1985.
Played in front of a huge 13,500 crowd (a Britball record at the time). The B52s
may have crumbled to a heavy defeat, but with the magnitude of the crowd, and
the first US team to travel to play a UK team it makes our list. No match

208. Birmingham Bulls 21-7 London Olympians, 19th June
1988. The Bulls proved they would be the team to beat in 1988 with this win. The
Olympians had become the first ever side to defeat the London Ravens one month
previous, and this convincing win by the Bulls installed them as favourites.
They’d go on to hammer the O’s in the 1988 Bud Bowl. Match

David Kidd ran for 101 yards and 2 scores, as the Cyclones built up a 30-14
lead, and then withstood a Braves comeback. Match

Leicester led 14-0 at halftime, but QB Leonard Valentine threw second half TD’s
to Leroy Innes (2) and Gerry Anderson to secure the win. Match

211. Ipswich Cardinals 47-15 Norwich Devils, 9th September 2001.
These East Anglian rivals met in the Division 2 final, and it was the Cardinals
who secured a famous win on the back of 100 yard rushing days by both Paul
Borstel (187 yards) and Mark Wallace (128 yards). Match

In the Bud Premier Bowl final, Lawrence Dinham scored a hat-trick of TDs and his
backfield partner Chalky Elliott ran for two more as the Bobcats upset the
fancied Tiggy Bell-led Leeds Cougars in stunning style. Match

9th September 2001. Stuart Franklin threw for 3 TDs and ran for a
further TD, and Warren Keen ran for 186 yards as the O’s ran out to a 28-0 lead,
and held off a spirited Pirates comeback to register another national title win.

6th September 2000 – Knights win the BSL Division Two title in
devastating fashion with 311 rushing yards to announce themselves on the big

September 1993 – Following promotion to the BNGL Premier Division, Tiptree

Yorkshire Jaguars, 25th June 1995 – Andy Fury ran for 212 yards and
4TDs as the Jaguars held off the Presidents. Match

Panthers, 14th July 1991 – Bulls safety Ken "Spats" Lewis recorded 3
interceptions of Panthers QB Nigel Mansfield, and Jeff Christmann’s 2 yard run
near the end sealed the win.

40-14 Glasgow Tigers, 1st August 1993 – Glasgow appeared in their
first national final since 1986, but were overrun by a power football display by
the Olympians, with Richard Dunkley running for yards and running for 4 TDs.

220. Kent Exiles 14-13 Chiltern Cheetahs, 21st May 2003 – Matt
Duncan completed a 15 yard scoring pass to Graham Deacon, and Matt Thompsett’s
PAT gave Kent a 14-13 lead late in the 4th quarter. Cheetahs had a
last gasp drive, but a potential game winning 23 yard field goal was blocked by
the Kent defensive line to secure the win. Match

2nd June 2003 – The Pirates meant business in 2003, and failed up
their previous months comfortable win at home to the Bulls by registering a
thrilling win in the Midlands to give themselves a strangle hold on the Div.1

August 1999 – The O’s won a penalty ridden final to secure their third
successive final. German receiver Tad Moeller caught the winning pass from QB
Price, and Neil Edwards interception with 32 seconds remaining secured the
