1986
New Bobcats US Coach, Don Anderson,
saw narrowly fail to win his first game. The Bobcats led 7-6, but Ben Moore’s QB
sneak late in the four quarter gave the Rams a 12-7 lead. The Bobcats drove down
to the Rams endzone, but Steve Tubbs was tackled on the 1 on 4th and
goal and the Rams ran out the clock. Match

The Barons trailed 16-5 with five
minutes to play, but Coach Brian Smallworth inspired them to score twice in the
dying moments – the winning score on a 53 yard TD pass from Mike Kuennan to

2003.
Despite two missed field goals and a disallowed TD, the Cardinals held a slender
7-5 lead late in the fourth quarter, but Gary McNey’s pass to Willie Brown gave
the Pirates a lead they would not relinquish in this Div.1 Semi-Final. No match

Vikings, 6th June
1999. The
O’s won the Euro Cup on the back of 2 TD passes from Nick Hewitt to WR Clive
Palumbo. Stephen Hutchison ran for 103 yards, and Bahr Viera’s stuff on
4th and 2 preserved the win for the O’s. Match

26th September
2004. The
Knights clinched their first national title, and prevented the Londoners winning
a record 8th successive crown in this Don Valley Stadium showdown.
Marvin Jimmerson’s interception return gave the Knights a 14-0 lead, and Jon
Wyse’s 50 yard TD gave the Knights and unassailable lead. Match

Birmingham Bulls, 1986. In this first
competitive European encounter for a British side, the Bulls slumped to a 12-0
deficit early in the first half and a real beating looked the case against the
German champions. However, they turned it around on the back of a stunning
100+yard game from RB Trevor Carthy and his 3 TDs, as the Bulls pulled clear in

Manchester Spartans, 2nd August
1986.
Allstars Nick Gough ran for 280 yards and 3 TDs, but still ended up on the
losing side. TJ Johnson passed for 2 TDs as the Spartans opened up a 21-12 lead,
and they held on after Gough’s TD and Nendel’s 2 PAT was converted. Match

London Olympians, 21st May
2006. A new look London Blitz side opened their 2006 season with 3 first half TD
passes from newly installed QB Tom Britton in torrential rain at the Linford
Christie Stadium as the Blitz won a famous victory over the London Olympians
whom they had never beaten previously. They’d go onto face each in the classic
Britball final in 2006. Match

Birmingham Bulls 27-20 Leeds Cougars, 29th July
1989. A cameo performance from Trevor Carthy and 8
catches for 89 yards with 2 TDs from Bob Shoop, gave the Bulls a 27-12 lead in
the fourth quarter. John LaFleur pulled the score to 27-20, but the Bulls
recovered the onside kick at the death to advance to the 1989 final. Match
